Doris Jeanne Doran age 88 of Crossville, TN passed from this life on April 22, 2016

Doris was born January 23, 1928 in Niles Ohio. Graduated from Niles High School in 1945 and from Youngstown (Ohio) College in 1947 where she was a member of the Alpha Iota Business Sorority.

She worked at Republic Steele Company from 1947-1949, where she served as secretary to the chief Metallurgist.

She began dating her beloved husband Joe at the age of 12, starting a 76 year long storybook romance highlighted by their marriage in 1949. Known for her kindness and generosity, she lists her family as her greatest accomplishment.

A resident of Fairfield Glade since 1983, she was quite active in several Bridge and golf groups and also enjoyed Needlework. She was also an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs watching their games faithfully. She was very active and a regular contributor to Project Linus. A member of the Fairfield Glade Methodist Church, she is survived by her husband Joe, children Kathi Van Houten (Steve), Patrick Doran (Jeanene), Barbara Trautwein, Jeffrey Doran (Jennifer), 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held May 28th at 2:00 P.M. at Fairfield Glade Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Cumberland County or the Fairfield Glade Methodist Church.
