Obituary for Esther Milagros Reader Estep Ogg (Munoz)

Esther Milagros (Munoz) Reader (Estep) Ogg passed Monday, August 13, 2018 after fighting a year and a half, stage four non alcohol related liver cancer.

Esther was born December 19, 1943 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to the late Leonidas Valentine Reader of Tyrone, Pennsylvania and her birth father, the late Reinaldo Munoz of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Michael Ogg, SR of Greenwood Lake/Middletown, New York and more recently her father Fredrick E. Reader of Tyrone, Pennsylvania.

Esther is survived by her daughter's, Sandra (Estep) and Allan Bollin of Smithville, Tennessee and Shelley (Estep) and Michael Pinero of Clark Summit, Pennsylvania. Grandsons, Robert McGinnis, Sr. of Newburgh, New York, Christopher Bednar and Jonathan Pinero of Clark Summit, Pennsylvania and Shaun McGinnis of Smithville, Tennessee, and Seven Great, Great grandchildren. Her beloved dogs, Teddy, Missy, Sophie, and Copper.

Her first job was as a Secretary at the Tyrone Paper Mill. She also worked at Star Expansion in Mountainville, New York. Then she was a police dispatcher for the Town of New Windsor, then a Secretary for the State of New York Police crime lab. Then various positions at Kelly Army Hospital, West Point, New York from which she retired from. She was active in both COVAC and NEWVAC where she held various line and executive positions.

The best time she had since her diagnosis was when Mindy Erden of Newburgh, New York brought down Simon Mohr, Logan and Jake Erden, Robert Jr., and Abbygail McGinnis from New York. She loved when the kids called her GG.

She moved to Smithville, Tennessee in March 2005 from Greenwood Lake with her late husband and loved the town and its weather. She loved sitting on the porch and especially in summer watching the sunsets and the hummingbirds. She was bowled over by the solar eclipse in August, 2017. She loved technology and had computers before they were connected to the internet to play solitaire which she now does on her mini iPad or smart phone. She had beautiful penmanship. She liked Spanish, Puerto Rican and Cuban foods of her childhood but could eat her weight in burgers. Thursday was her favorite day of the week. It was Thursday Baby on the news and clean sheet day.

The family would like to thank Tennessee Oncology, Sarah Cannon Research, Avalon Hospice, Dr. Kevin Rhody, NHC, Buckeye Supplies, Hospice Service, Webb Pharmacy, and all their support staff who helped during this long hard journey.

The family is honoring her request to be directly cremated and no service is planned. A bio urn and tree will be planted at home in the spring. Donations may be made to Final Care Cremation Services to help with funeral expenses.
