Mary Ellen Froehlich passed away peacefully on November 20th, 2017, at Cumberland House Hospice in Crossville, TN, surrounded by her loved ones, after a most courageous, resilient, hard fought battle with cancer.
She was born in Newark, NJ on June 2, 1942, daughter of the late John G. Herman, and the late Emma (Parker) Herman. She was pre-deceased by her younger and beloved brother, John “Butch” G. Herman, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edward F Froehlich, Jr., of Fairfield Glade, TN, married 53 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (and husband, Bennett) Rymon of Washington, NJ. Also survived by her three sons, Eddie Scott (and wife Jodi) of Hagerstown, Md, Jeffrey John (and wife Andrea) of Longwood, FL, and Christopher Michael (and wife Jennifer) of Wesley Chapel, FL.
She has eight grandchildren, whom she adored. Bennett Daniel (and wife Rachael) Rymon, Joshua John (and wife Katie) Rymon, Hannah Nicole and Dylan Andrew Froehlich, Sean Jeffrey and Cassandra Yvonne Froehlich, Brandon Christopher Froehlich and Celeste Marie Otero.
She has four great grandchildren, Rebekka Lynne Fehnel, Olivia Danielle Rymon, Ian William Rymon, and Harper Mae Rymon, with one more on the way.
Mary Ellen was employed for the last 10 years as an Administrative Assistant at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, and was an active and well-respected member of that church community. She was previously employed in the insurance industry, and also acted as a secretary in a law firm.
Her favorite activities were spending time with her family, cooking, baking, reading, and giving her unconditional love and support to everyone she knew.
Her memorial service is scheduled for December 9th at 2 p.m. at the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, she would ask donations to the Cumberland House, 140 Kates Korner, Crossville, TN 38555, or to the church she so fondly loved Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, Fairfield Glade, TN, or to the Melanoma Research Foundation, Washington, DC.
